Sample Requirements & Submission Guidelines

1. General Sample Quality Specifications

DNA Sample Requirements:

• Concentration: Minimum 10 ng/µL (varies by service)

• Purity: High quality, contaminant-free genomic DNA

• Fragmentation: Should be intact, not degraded

• Contamination: Free from salts, proteins, and other contaminants

• Quantity: 100-500 ng depending on service

RNA Sample Requirements:

• Type: Total RNA, mRNA, or specific RNA type depending on service

• Concentration: Minimum 50 ng/µL recommended

• Quality: RIN (RNA Integrity Number) ≥7 recommended

• Degradation: Fresh samples or properly preserved specimens

• Quantity: 500 ng - 1 µg total RNA

2. Sample Types Accepted

• Blood (whole blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat)

• Tissue (fresh, frozen, or FFPE)

• Cultured cells and primary cells

• Microorganisms (bacterial, fungal, viral)

• Plant material (leaves, roots, seeds)

• Environmental samples (soil, water, sediment)

• Saliva and other bodily fluids

• Cell lines

3. Sample Preparation & Handling

• Container: Use sterile, nuclease-free tubes

• Labeling: Clearly label all samples with identification

• Storage: -20°C for DNA, -80°C for RNA (unless otherwise specified)

• Shipping: Use appropriate packaging with dry ice for frozen samples

• Documentation: Provide detailed sample information form

4. Shipping & Packaging

• Temperature Control: Ship with dry ice for frozen samples

• Packaging: Use insulated containers and packing materials

• Tracking: Use trackable shipping method

• Documentation: Include packing list with sample details
